Commercial Production and Smart Marketing Differentiates GART from other government grant-aided institutions in that GART is able to generate its own income and meet all its financial obligations with little recourse to huge government grants. The commercial production and marketing of GART agricultural produce is smart because it uses a system of back and forward linkages in terms of respectively; inputs and markets.
GARTÂ currently has a total of 426 Hectares under cultivation of which 226 Hectares are under center pivot irrigation. High-value crops including Wheat, Soybean, and Irish Potatoes are produced. A Boran commercial beef herd is under development as a source of additional income along with supplements from the dairy demonstration unit which has the Jersey breed.
